Minitube 1.4.2 bug fix release

Just a quick note to announce the availability of Minitube 1.4.2. This version addresses a bug with some videos not playing, especially longer ones. Also full length videos now start playing much faster. 1.4.2 also fixes some invalid download filenames on Windows. A brand new Albanian translation is included. Enjoy!

“Die Medienquelle konnte nicht geöffnet werden”

on most of the videos I try to watch, I hope you can fix that fast, minitube is for me not usable at all at the moment.

  4. spiderbit says:

sorry I forgot to say I am using ubuntu (11.04 beta but I had the same problem with 1.4.0 and stable 10.10)

  6. Blablabla says:

Don’t know if file a bug about this, but I see that minitube saves its configuration file in a folder named with your name, Flavio Tordini. I think this can be confusing and is not a standard for things like freedesktop. I would like that your app would save its configuration file in a folder named ‘minitube’.

  7. Rodrigo Almeida says:

I’ve the same problem to watching videos on minitube.
Since 1.41 when i install on first time, i never see the videos.

  10. Flavio says:

@Murgiao which Phonon backend? I’m only testing GStreamer. Try reporting the bug to your distro.

    • Murgiao says:

      Ciao Flavio,
ti scrivo in italiano è più comodo.
Dunque dopo aver digitato sudo apt-get remove phonon-backend-xine, i video hanno ripreso a funzionare.
Purtroppo ora ho un altro problema: i video vengono riprodotti con i colori come “negativo” (il rosso è verde ecc…).
      Potresti darmi qualche consiglio?
      Grazie.

      M.

    • Murgiao says:

Scusa dimenticavo il Phonon backend installato è GStreamer.

  11. idoki says:

Hi, I had the same problem with Minitube on Ubuntu 10.10

Solution: I first unistalled phonon, then reinstalled it from repository, then reinstalled Minitube (uninstalled automaticly by uninstalling phonon) – and now everything works as intended :) :)

    Everything using synaptic.

PS: Love the software, minitube is amazing :) – worth a donation.

I downloaded the Minitube for Windows XP, and after the search I got the error “Connection Refused”. I could not find any relevant information on why I am getting this error.

I am really impressed by the way Minitube works in my home pc Ubuntu. Really appreciate the product.

Also I would like a new feature to download in MP3 format from a YouTube video, its my wish list.

  16. Sam says:

  18. Runar says:

Hello, I installed Ubuntu 11.10 64-bit some days ago and am trying Minitube. I like it a lot, but sometimes in the middle of a video/song it skips to the next one. Also when I click to move to a point in the song it skips to the next instead. Is this a known bug?
