Announcing Minitunes: A better music player
I’m very happy to announce the release of an innovative music player, Minitunes!
This is just the first release. Many pieces of the puzzle still have to fall in place. Like the search feature, internationalization, media device support and many other features you can read in the to-do list. With your support, we’ll get there.
Minitunes is available for Mac and Linux. A Windows version is coming soon.

I get this error: QSqlQuery::prepare: database not open
“Driver not loaded Driver not loaded”
how do I to solve it?
After 2 hours and 30 minutes, only scan 40% of my collection (100G)!
Will be great if this work on background and use all tags information.

1. Honour cover ([cover|folder].[jpg|png])files
2. Album hover: show artist’s name
Excellent, is there any plan to incorporate *soon* the playing of CUE Sheets? I am really desperate for this :-)

Just tried to run the OSX version on 10.6.4, but it didn’t get very far before a rather abrupt quit….!
Main complaint from the log files seems to be (500 lines of)….
org.tordini.flavio.minitunes 0x000000010002f94b CollectionScanner::popFromQueue() + 491
can send you the whole crash log if you want
Integration with Covergloobus (Ubuntu) would be great! Although i have to this is a very good Job. It looks nice!

I found a repo for Ubuntu:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nilarimogard/webupd8 && sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install minitunes
Here are some things i would like to see:
1. Either play album button or add to playlist button. So when you hover over an album there is a “+” symbol to add it to the playlist, And leave the play button to play the current album without adding it to the playlist? if you get what i’m saying.
2. Play All button or add all to playlist button
3. Smooth scrolling? or some 3d scrolling?

This looks like the media player I have been looking for since ages. Unfortunately, I’m not using a Mac or Linux. Any idea when the Windows7 version will be ready (at least for testing)? Thx.
Great taste in the UI! But the audio stutters after the first song on Fedora 12 & 13 (using the Gstreamer backend for Phonon) I compiled from source. Any ideas?

How is this player “mini” if it requires mysql? Unless the ubuntu package has been built badly:-/

Great player! I just love it. I’m pleasantly surprised at how well it handles my enormous collection of bob dylan boots. Also, it looks great! Looking forward to a search function and my only real complaint is that when viewing the track lists the background is white and the text is white so you can’t read anything unless you click on it. Good luck, I will be following your updates.

well, this player is amazing, have one feature what i was looking for in other players… play by folders, but i have a little problem, i dont know if is my computer or what..
at the begin of the song have some problem to play, i dont know how to describe, but is a bit annoying, but is the first version, and i think this player have a lot to grow up
