Minitube is in Ubuntu repositories
Thanks to the efforts of Christian Mangold, Minitube has been packaged and uploaded into Ubuntu’s universe repository for the upcoming Lucid Lynx release. This means that starting from April 2010 Ubuntu users will be able to install it in a few clicks using the Ubuntu Software Center application.
This is such a great news! I tried but I really cannot convey what I feel in English words, so I’ll try with an image. Here’s a cheesy picture of me in 2007 after reaching Sardinia’s highest peak, proudly wearing a self-made Kubuntu shirt! ;)

I do not have a strong computer, so for me Your MiniTube is an very important app. What was my surprise when I put the word minitube in the Ubuntu Software Center on my experimental Lynx install and it was there!! I am keeping a copy of Lucid to try it out before I make it my primary system, and so I am trying the apps I am used to using. It is much more convenient to install it this way!
(I am not saying that it was difficult before :-) just now it is smooth and easy :-) )
I would like to review the app in the Software Center and give it some points, but I cannot find out how. Do You have an idea??

Looked at MiniTube for the first time in LiniuxMint 8 and really liked it.
Have installed it on my other computers.

Ciao, non uso minitube perché essendo utente gnome posso usare totem per fare la stessa cosa. Comunque mi piacerebbe usarlo. Tuttavia si porta dietro phonon e questo non è particolarmente amichevole su gnome. Ci sarebbe modo di evitare questa dipendenza nella prossima versione? renderla solo facoltativa?

guiodic, phonon non è amichevole? Tu non ti preoccupare di Phonon. Installa il pacchetto “minitube” e divertiti. Se poi c’è qualcosa che non va, segnala un bug su LaunchPad.
