MattI think you should be able to log in to your YouTube account and let it play playlists so that you don’t have to search for a new song every time the one you looked for is done playing.
Oct 26, 2011 at 6:19 pm #1238If you use Minitube to play songs you should really look at Musictube.
That said, the ability to login opens up a lot of possibilities but is also a big challenge in terms of keeping the UI as simple as it is now.

MattTrue. Musictube does seem to meet my need better, but I think even adding a playlist mode/option to minitube would be a great enhancement. It could save locally and just load each video after the next, just like in YouTube. Maybe skip the login process and do it locally on the user’s computer?
Oct 27, 2011 at 12:39 pm #1245What I’m going to add to Minitube soon is a search mode for playlists. Any YouTube playlist, without any need to login.

MattThat sounds awesome. I’ll be waiting. I would like to get on board with translating too, to Spanish. How could I go about that?
Oct 27, 2011 at 2:45 pm #1247Great! Translators are always welcome! There’s a link to Transifex in the Minitube page. Register on Transifex and join the Minitube Spanish team.

Douglas MeyerI would love to see support for youtube’s “new subscription videos” feed. That way I could keep up-to-date with channels I’ve subscribed to. This may require login, but would probably work very similar to playlists.

ReedVery glad to hear you are adding a search function for playing playlists!! I have tons of playlists on my YouTube account that are a pain in the ass to watch on YouTube and I would love to be able to watch them fullscreen and streaming without hassle. Great product!

Yes, but you badly need to implement this; a lot of people have requested this.

AlucaiI, too, would like to see support for Subscriptions. Will that also be part of the new playlist feature?

Fake NameHi Flavio,
Thanks for the great software. It is great to know that you are working on adding a playlist search feature. I have a few requests is possible:
1. Is it possible to add a feature so that when a youtube playlist url is passed to minitube (either via the command line or a File > Load like menu option) minitube plays the videos in the playlist?
2. In the web UI for youtube one can click on the play progression bar and start playing from an arbitrary timepoint. In minitube this does not happen and the playback switches to the next video. If possible could you add such a “seek ahead” or “seek backward” feature?
Thanks.

StefanHi Flavio,
you wrote:

* a menu entry for entering YouTube credentials
* a link on the minitube start page (ie. “My Channel”)
* The My Channel link takes to you to a channel view similar to what is already there, as an example it could show:* My uploaded Videos
* My subscriptions (showing the latest videos of subscribed chans)
* My playlists (showing all playlists incl. private ones – selecting a playlist takes to the playlist view)In my world that would be the best implementation, it would allow to use the most important personal YouTube features while keeping the UI as simple and great as it currently is…
I believe most user would love this feature, actually I would use minitube WAY more if that stuff would be there.
just my 2ct, Cheers
