Hi Fernando, sorry for not responding and thanks for liking Minitube. An iPad version implies a total rewrite of the application. This is not completely ruled out. I’ll think about it. What I can say for sure is that this is not coming very soon. So don’t hold your breath.

To be clear, this command only makes /mplayer/ to prevent the screensaver from running. I case someone thought it also works with minitube. Minitube have to implement the “quoted” line, somehow.

You don’t have to turn off the screensaver in order to disable the screensaver. You need to simulate user activity. By using the above mentioned command, you turn it off. If minitube for some reason crash, the screensaver is not turned back on.

I have this in my mplayer config, to prevent the screensaver from starting while viewing video (note, this is 1 line):
heartbeat-cmd=”qdbus org.freedesktop.ScreenSaver /ScreenSaver SimulateUserActivity”

Hi Paul, thanks for noticing this glitch. I’m using Lion’s Full Screen API and cannot change the animation duration. I’d like the video to keep playing during the animation, but I couldn’t find a technical solution.

I’d wish there was an option to switch into FS instantaneously – like in Movist.
The animations take a lot of time, pause the video and make for interior experience for me, especially when you’ve managed to get the videos play instantly. The fullscreen method spoils the otherwise robust interface :)

What if you could engage multiple connections for the download and somehow enabled “skip points” on the timeline? Even for now – a simple progress bar would be help (I could see to where I can seek)

Chill.com is a great website that filters very interesting and inspiring content – if you could implement that – that would be true TV experience (curated quality videos).
